Election notice & Call for candidates
Dear IPSC Quebec member,
1.   Three (3) Board of Director positions are coming to term (two years’ mandate).  These are:

  • President position, currently filled by Guy Gauthier;
  • Vice-President position, currently filled by Stéphan Ratté; and
  • Secretary position, currently filled by Louis Gaudreau.

2.   We are now accepting candidates for these positions until November 15th 2019, 7:00PM (EST).
The application has to be received before the end of this deadline and has to fulfill all criteria indicated in the point 3 when sent to the election officers. After the deadline, an incomplete submission will be declined, same as a late submission.
Details of the election timeline are provided below.  Additional information will follow at each step.

  • October 28, 2019 to November 15, 2019 (7:00PM EST) -               Election notice & call for candidates;
  • November 16, 2019 to December 1, 2019 - Candidates campaign; and
  • December 2, 2019 to December 22, 2019 (11:59PM EST) - Electronic voting for all members in good standing.

3.   For interested candidates - To be considered an eligible application by the election officers, the candidates must fulfill all of the following criteria:

  1. Must be a member in good standing (membership of the current year paid) for at least the last three years without interruption;
  2. Must have the knowledge and the skills sufficient to discharge the responsibilities of the position (minutes, financial statements, project management, communications, etc.);
  3. Must provide evidence of support by two other members in good standing;
  4. Must produce an application notice indicating their identity and position sought;
  5. Must provide a presentation letter and state their vision to the members.  The letter will be posted on the website (www.ipscquebec.org);
  6. Must submit a complete application including all supporting documents within prescribed timeline;
  7. Must be exempt of any disciplinary sanction from the Association; and
  8. Must be exempt of any criminal conviction or outstanding charge (it is important to contact the election officers for this criteria since the search can take a few days).

Roles and responsibilities of each open position can be found in the Statutes and Regulations.  Questions concerning the elections must be addressed to the election officers.
